Fishing Under the Bridge
Today I took a couple of young men fishing.
Myself, I am not a fisherman at all, but I do enjoy sitting next to the river as much as they do. We pulled off Middleton Road just south of the Boise River. A small, well-beaten down trail led to the water’s edge. The concrete bridge sat next to an old wooden train bridge, no longer used and overtaken by the surrounding growth of plant life.
The concrete bridge was covered in spray painted grefetti, it blended in a hodgepodge of numerous colors with long elongated letters or crisp precise designs.
There was a large sand covered beach running along under the bridge, with a waterfront mini beach on each side. The guys reached picked a side and cast out.

I snapped a few pictures for Facebook and TikTok and settled into a chair, just enjoying the 75 degree fall afternoon.
A woman and her toddler came down the path and slipped off their shoes and waded into the River, even with one of the guys fishing on that side there was ample room for privacy for the mother and her child. After they left I walked over to the larger of the two sides and studied the water.
A very large Crawly Crab (Crawdad) transversed under the running water about a foot from shore. I snapped a couple photos and a quick video of it as it passed before me.
Although the guys did come home empty handed, we have a great relaxing evening under the bridge.
